Make Yumi, a plush-yarn panda with a head and body crocheted as one piece, four paws joined during the work, ears and a small tail. The eyes, black patches and cheeks are made separately, then positioned and sewn in an illustrated sequence. An embroidered mouth, eyebrows and a pink bow complete the face.

The whole panda, step by step
- Both upper paws and both lower paws: partial stuffing, fold direction and edge closure.
- The oval head and spiral body: muzzle markers, joining the paws, belly increases and closure.
- Sculpting the muzzle with four tightening points, followed by the ears, nose, cheeks and both black patches.
- The fine-yarn eyes: partial white arc, blue or green surface chain and embroidered white glints.
- The embroidered smile, then sewing the eyes and cheeks to the patches off the head, attaching the patches to the head, the eyebrows, tail placement while sitting and the pink bow.
Yarns, hooks and size
The photographed version uses YarnArt Dolce with a 3.75 mm hook for the plush pieces and a 2.25 mm hook for the eyes and bow. Prepare plush yarn measuring 120 m / 100 g: less than one ball of white or ivory, less than half a ball of black and less than half a ball of pink. The small details use finer cotton or cotton-blend yarn, approximately 330 m / 100 g, in black, white, blue or green and pink.
You will also need matching fine sewing yarn, strong synthetic thread or dental floss for sculpting, needles, markers, pins, scissors and stuffing. The source pattern gives a height of approximately 25 to 28 cm, which varies with yarn and tension. US conventions, techniques and markers are explained in the chosen language.
