Make two small hollow crochet houses: an orange first house and a pumpkin-colored second house. Each has an outer shell and a lining with cardboard enclosed between the layers. Felt doors and windows and embroidery complete the facades. The source-pattern models stand approximately 14.5 cm and 12.5 cm tall with their roofs; size varies with yarn, hook and tension.
Two houses, two roof constructions
- The first house: two brown windows, a red door and a removable red roof made from five folded, reinforced panels, with embroidered tiles and brown edging.
- The second house: two brown windows, a brown door, a brown upper section with black embroidery, and a red roof made as a flattened tube around cardboard. A seam along the short upper edge forms the lid’s hinge.
- The instructions cover square-spiral bases, walls, linings, cutting and fitting the cardboard, decorations and assembly of both roofs.
Materials and skill level
The photographed model uses DK-weight Alize Cotton Gold, with 330 m / 100 g, made of 55% cotton and 45% acrylic, and a 2.25 mm hook. The colors are orange 37, pumpkin 83, brown 493 and red 56. Also prepare brown, white and black cotton embroidery floss, thin, firm brown and red felt, cardboard, glue and the tools listed in the guide.
This advanced project combines crochet, sewing, embroidery and fitting reinforcements. You will need to follow stitch tables and work in continuous spirals and rows. Measure the cardboard and felt against your crocheted pieces.
